Military and Heroes Day

August 25, 2011, (El Cajon, California) – Today, Sycuan Resort, an award-winning golf and tennis resort just 24 miles inland from downtown San Diego, announced its Military and Heroes Day this Sunday, August 28th.

In an effort to honor active and retired service-members, police officers, firefighters, and emergency vehicle drivers, Sycuan will waive the green fees on its award-winning course, for these heroes and their families. In addition to live entertainment, massages, a ball drop, and one dollar draft beers and hotdogs, Sycuan will be presenting attendees with an invocation by Deacon Allan Williams. In addition to his leadership in the Church of St. Luke, he served as an Officer in the United States Naval Reserve from 1968 to 1998.

“U.S. servicemen and servicewomen, risk their lives, every single day, in various corners of the world, to protect our liberties and freedom, and ensure a stronger and safer America for generations to come,” said Doug Kacena Sycuan Resort’s Direct of Sales and Marketing. “We can’t think of better way to honor them and their supportive families, than to treat them to a great day of golf at our beautiful resort.” He added that every Monday and Tuesday, service-members, firemen and women, police officers, and emergency vehicle drivers, can enjoy a discounted green fee of just $25.00.

Sycuan also invites its guests taking part in Patriot day to make a donation of $1 or more to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation. To date, more than 2100 scholarships have been awarded.
